inside of an elevator

An elevator pitch is a short speech, intended to garner interest, provide information, and delivered concisely, all in the amount of time of an elevator ride. In my research, everyone agrees that having an elevator pitch is one of the most important things. (The most important is having a marketable product.)

I have prepared mine...and I had no idea that it would take as long as it did! Here it is:

What if Jane Austen lived in a galaxy far, far away? I’m writing a New Adult Jane Austen Space opera. The first book, The Bennet Determination, centers on Elizabeth Bennet. She is apprehensive of the Regents de Bourg, who, after deposing the heir, constantly wrench freedom from the populace. The Royalists, determined to place the heir back on the throne, slowly diminish in strength. Elizabeth must choose between the Royalists and the Regents. Between her sense of right and her family's safety. Between the death of tyranny and the death of peace.

Is it interesting? Is it clear? Is it short enough?

I love your first question! I think that will hook people right away. I think you have good stakes here, but I just want to know why de Bourgh or the Regency group is targeting Lizzy and/or her family. The length is good, but I found at my recent writer's conference that when people asked me, I only had time to say a sentence or two. So many have a shorter version ready for quick conversations, but then if people ask more, you could share this. This book sounds sooo good!
