Review
Summary: The seven elf lords, stolen from their homeland as infants, are now manifesting their gifts. Unfortunately, none of them know their heritage, nor that the evil Spider King is hunting them down.
Notes: Spiders. Why did it have to be spiders? There are other creatures, like nazgul-ish things, shapeshifters, and creepy trees, but the spiders are the worst. I don’t like spiders. Also, some of the parents don’t tell their child that they were adopted. Besides those things, this book is fantastic. I can’t wait to read the next book! Like all of Wayne Thomas Batson's books, it is intense at times...many times...pretty much the whole second half of the book. You may not be able to set it down!
Age of main characters: Thirteen in the first two books.
Violence: Lots. Large battles, kidnaping, creepy stranger stalking the kids.
Romance: Not much so far. The girls discuss which boy they think is cute.
Scary themes: Spiders, the aforesaid violence, SPOILER!!! shapeshifters that pretend to be one child’s parents and try to kill her. Another couple who adopted a character wish that they hadn’t.
Genre: Low Fantasy
